"The beauty of and need for dialogue"

The ACC first conference in it's interfaith program

Now, more than ever, we need to look at our different faiths and literary celebrate their similarities and differences. According to my humble studies, there are some striking similarities and some interesting differences. In the past, and because of many reasons (ignorance , lack of communication and geographical distances, to mention the obvious) we never had the opportunity to know each other, let alone to appreciate each other. At the dawn of the twenty first century it is becoming not a luxury but a need for us not only to acknowledge each other faiths but also to get together and celebrate.

One of the programs that we have at the ACC is the Interfaith Dialogues whereby we hope to reestablish and  enhance the positive relationship among world’s faiths.

We are planning to have  three sessions entitled “Celebrating Our Faiths " that would be in the following sequence as far as subtopics and times are concerned;

1. The beauty of and need for dialogue. Spring, 2003.
2. Our similarities. Spring, 2004.
3. Some differences. Fall, 2005.

It is my pleasure to invite you to our first conference that will would take place on 

April 28 ,2003

For those of you who would to submit a paper please notice:

1. The theme of the paper must be on dialogue only. It could be dialogue from your faith view, worldview or any view. Even though we will be basically discussing religious dialogue in this conference, we are not going to discuss religions.
2. The paper must have a minimum of five single lined pages and a maximum of ten.  
3. The paper must be received at least three weeks before the conference date.
4. The paper will have to go through a committee for approval.
5. The paper will be placed on the ACC website at least one week before the conference date.
6. The paper will be published, along with other papers, by the ACC.
